Saturday, 11 July 2009 remind me not to buy .011 strings anymore. maybe should switch to .010s --mike at 12:51 Saturday, 4 July 2009 For something a little more substantial then the usual randomnesses that I've been mindlessly and carelessly putting up on this blog, making it no better than some Twitter or Facebook profile updates.
Today, in fact tonight, I did the one thing I hadn't done for some time.
Clear out my Facebook/MSN contacts.
It's not that hard to do, but in a sense a little bit painful. After all, you're going to delete a certain so and so from your network completely via Facebook. And MSN, it means cutting off total contact with the person.
Sorted out through my list, and slowly deleted everyone that I cannot remember, recognise or are not on speaking terms with. Didn't amount to many, probably less than ten. Most, are people I don't even recall. Probably added me for some obscure reason, or I really cannot recall this particular person.
And as I slowly pored through this list of "friends", I started to wonder how many "friends" were really friends. People you can talk to, share your life with, pour your problems to and they'll listen, etc. I hadn't compiled that list. Perhaps, I don't wish to. It just shows how pathetically the number of people you can rely on --mike at 23:24
Army is a place that won't allow you to bring home work due to the sensitivity of the work that you're involved in. So why am I cooked up at home, on a Saturday, doing work for my branch?!
Horrendous Ingrates. Now that 2NTM won't be here for some time, I'm going to ask S4 to arrow you to do some more work. I've got enough on my plate, thank you very much.
The experimentation of a gazillion ideas. Each, uniquely flavoured. Marred, ruined For my forgetfulness, or my absentmindedness to write it down
I love you too baby

Not literally. Just a reminder for some songs --mike at 21:14 Monday, 15 June 2009 Remind me again what was the reason for me dissing the iPod's in favour of a Walkman again? I think I may have gone nuts the other day while walking through the IT show. Looking at all the colourful stores, listening to all the various salespeople actively selling their wares, I re-realised the reason I liked, yet hated the IT fairs that come all-so-ever-every-quarter. It was crazy; each shop was trying to kill off every single piece of competition, selling their wares at the most outrageous prices I've ever seen. A couple of showgirls tried their best to seduce me into buying their products. It was a pity that I wasn't looking for televisions. I must have offended them, because I heard one of them swear at me when I ignored them. So, eventually, I settled for a new 16GB iPod to replace my Walkman. After today, I'm starting to suffer from the "Buyer's Regret". Plugging my earphones into it, I remembered the reason for not buying an iPod - audio quality. That was enough to make me long for my Walkman again. It was, blur. Not as sharp as I would like it. Listening to "Adalia" was enough to convince myself that I had made the mistake of my life. Guitar Riffs weren't as sharp, even Nathan Leone's voice was a little dimmed. Bass drums were reduced to small "thumps", instead of the big, masculine "BOMP" I once enjoyed. I miss my customable EQs. I've got little control over my audio now. For Apple, who insists everything on simplicity, I don't see what's so simple about the iPod I tried to fiddle with the back button, but couldn't find it. It'll take me some time to get used to the fact that I don't have a "BACK" nor an "OPTION" button anymore. Heck, even volume buttons didn't exist on a iPod. To scroll the volume down, I had to literally go back to the song menu, then scroll it down. Which, was quite irritating if you were trying to do something else at the same time. I long for my old Walkman. Now remind me again what was the reason for me dissing the iPod's in favour of a Walkman again? --mike at 20:58 Thursday, 4 June 2009 for those who are blind, and didn't see my MSN nick or Facebook...
